Senior Technical Accounting Manager - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

We’re looking for a Senior Technical Accounting Manager to join our Accounting, Reporting & Control team and play a critical role in safeguarding the integrity of Virgin Media O2’s financial results. In this highly influential position, you’ll provide expert IFRS and US GAAP guidance, shape accounting policy across the organisation, and partner with senior leaders, shareholders and commercial teams on complex transactions. If you enjoy solving intricate accounting challenges and want to make a real impact in a high‑profile, high‑governance setting this is the role for you.

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (or equivalent) with demonstrable technical accounting expertise.
• Deep, up‑to‑date knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP, with experience applying these to complex scenarios.
• Proven experience resolving complex accounting issues, including preparing and reviewing high‑quality accounting position papers.
• Strong ability to interpret, analyse and advise on commercial contracts to determine appropriate accounting treatment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑influence skills, with confidence working across senior leadership, auditors and shareholders

We'd also love you to bring;

• Experience partnering on financing transactions, investment cases or treasury‑related accounting.
• Background supporting pension accounting (valuations, curtailments, de‑risking activities, buy‑ins/buy‑outs).
• Experience leading implementation of new accounting standards and delivering technical training.
• Exposure to M&A, business combinations, disposals, or debt issuance from an accounting perspective.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑governance environment, prioritising multiple technical workstreams.
