As a Smart Metering Cloud Engineer you will be responsible for building, deploying and maintaining on-premise and cloud infrastructure.

On-premise responsibilities include the delivery of capacity increases, dealing with end-of-life issues for both hardware and software and delivering against project requirements. The role incorporates day-to-day administration of a diverse set of applications and UNIX environments.

Cloud responsibilities include developing and delivering infrastructure-as-code, scripts and automation tools used to build, integrate, and deploy software releases to various SaaS, PaaS and IaaS platforms. You'll ensure solutions are built based on company standards by working with architecture, security and design teams.

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux/Ansible
  • Ability to create scripts in Python, Bash, Typescript or other languages
  • Firm understanding of Cloud (Azure) technology/architecture
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps and proficient with Git
  • Knowledge on different monitoring and logging solutions available (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Sentinel)
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex failure scenarios
  • Exposure and experience working in a live environment utilising change control process

The other stuff we are looking for

We'd also love you to bring;

  • Experience of NetApp and Vmware is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to collaborate and work as a team player
