nexfibre is a joint venture between Liberty Global/Telefonica and Infravia to deliver FTTH to up to 7 million homes within the UK through a £4.5bn investment programme 

The relationship between nexfibre and VMO2 is multifaceted. VMO2 Consumer are the anchor tenant for the venture and both VMO2 Consumer and VMO2 Business will be wholesale customers of nexfibre. In addition, VMO2 are providing an array of services to nexfibre including construction, aggregation, network services, IT services and shared corporate services. Because of this, the overall business case is complex and touches multiple different business units across VMO2.  

The intent of the nexfibre internal governance structure is to have an end-to-end view of the relationship with nexfibre under one EC member to cut through internal cross contract topics, ensure consistency of planning, forecasting and reporting as well as providing a holistic view to maximise the value of the contracts and optimise commercial decision making.  

Partnering with the nexfibre leadership team, this role will be integral to driving commercial activity to improve the end-to-end nexfibre P&L across all nexfibre contracts. This is a high-profile role which will be required to effectively operate through all levels of the organisation

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience; 

  • Qualified accountant – CIMA / ACA / ACCA  
  • Proven experience of leading on commercial opportunities/deals  
  • Attention to detail, strong analytical skills and commercial foresight  
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with team members at all levels  
  • Ability to understand and solve complex problems with a strategic approach  
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work flexibly with conflicting demands so that work is scheduled to meet changing priorities and deadlines 
The other stuff we are looking for

We'd also love you to bring; 

  • Brainstorming then prioritising potential new opportunities  
  • Building and owning commercial finance modelling across opportunities  
  • Optimise P&L performance by proactively identifying and managing opportunities within existing P&L  
  • Analyse and drive a deeper level of understanding of financial performance within each contract with a view to identifying further opportunities  
  • Matrix management of personnel involved in the commercial opportunities across VMO2 technology, operations, commercial functions, delivery teams and key partners (finance, legal, CIO, CTO, NetEx)
