We have an outstanding new opportunity for a Data Architect to join our Data Platforms, Products & AI directorate.

The Data Architecture team is at the heart of shaping the future of Virgin Media O2’s data platforms, services, and overall delivery. Leveraging data is essential for driving both our business and tech strategies.

As we roll out our company-wide Data strategy, we're on the lookout for a Data Architect to help define and implement our target data architecture, making sure it aligns with our business goals and supports our move to a cloud-based data platform. This role is key to our Data Management function and is crucial in bringing our Cloud vision to life.

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

  • Previous demonstrable experience in a similar Data Architecture role within a complex, data driven technical environment
  • Experience in creating and managing clear descriptions of data and its structures, including data definitions, models, metadata management, and data integration
  • Demonstrable ability to design conceptual and logical data models, set up architectural frameworks, and establish high-level operating models and governance structures for data management. Act as the go-to expert on modelling standards, best practices, approved techniques, and data governance, including data observability
  • Experience in creating data architecture that meets business needs, ensuring data access is efficient, flexible, and sustainable
  • Evidence and ability of working with stakeholders at all levels of the business, both technical and non-technical. These may include data professionals, engineers, and business and operations

  • Data Analysis, Migration, Modelling, Integration, and Warehousing
  • Data quality & observability process design
  • Data warehousing and integration tools
  • Cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Privacy, Security & Regulatory (e.g. GDPR) knowledge and implementation
  • Master Data Management (MDM) emphasis on data governance, accuracy and consistency
