This role is part of the Tesco Mobile team and will be based out of the Slough office. 

In this role you will lead Tesco Mobile’s Corporate Reporting operations, responsible for reporting financial position and business performance both internally, externally and to our shareholders. This includes preparation of statutory reporting, corporation tax, management accounts, shareholder submissions and quarterly board performance packs.

The main responsibilities include

  • Calculation, posting and reconciliation of Primary service recharges and Corporation & Deferred Tax Submitting monthly results to shareholders and ownership of various month-end reporting outputs including Management Accounts, Units per Revenue Pack 
  • Compiling monthly flash and providing constructive input into subsequent Month-end review sessions
  • Working cross functionally with the FP&A team to understand projections and key performance drivers
  • Producing quarterly Board Pack commentary and analysis of financial / trading performance 
  • Co-ordinate and prepare annual statutory group financial statements including consolidation of 2 entities 
  • Preparing and maintaining Accounting Papers for relevant existing / emerging Accounting Standards Coordinating Annual Corporation Tax computation and preparing associated analysis 
  • Dealing with Adhoc requests from external stakeholders Provision of quarterly Network Capacity Forecasts to VMo2 Fulfilling external regulatory reporting requirements

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

  • Qualified accountant with proven experience in a financial control environment
  • Strong understanding of IFRS standards and associated statutory disclosures
  • Good solid understanding of Corporation Tax rules and requirements 
  • Articulate individual able to interpret and express key messages succinctly and to a Board level standard

  • Solid understanding of the mobile telecommunications industry 
  • Appreciation of non financial business KPI's
  • Ability to identify key drivers and trends in order to interpret and forecast financial performance 
  • Track record of delivering continuous process and efficiencies
