As the Commercial Manager – Content Rights & Anti-Piracy, you will be responsible for working across content partners and VMO2 TV&E, Commercial and TV Product teams, managing:

in Content Rights—the process of supporting Virgin Media O2’s evolving TV product roadmap by identifying rights gaps, working with partnership leads to secure the necessary rights and with content partners to activate them; and in Anti-Piracy—being the first point of contact in resolving live instances of content leakage from the VMO2 TV content ecosystem, and, more widely, driving Virgin Media O2’s efforts to understand, prevent and disrupt piracy within the Virgin Media O2 customer base and wider market, ultimately supporting TV value and net growth.

The Commercial Manager – Content Rights & Anti-Piracy leads, contributes and collaborates with cross-functional teams and interfaces with colleagues across TV & Entertainment, commercial, legal, regulatory, data protection, information / networks security, fraud, customer services, product, and operations.

The partners that the Content Acquisition Team works with include global media and entertainment companies such as Warner Bros. Discovery, Paramount Global and Disney, and UK broadcasters including the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky and UKTV.

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience:

  • Proven experience in content security, digital rights management (DRM), pay TV security, and/or anti-piracy, including implementing processes or technologies to detect, deter, and respond to piracy threats.
  • Strong understanding of piracy ecosystems, including methods of unauthorised access and distribution, forensic watermarking, and traffic monitoring techniques.
  • Deep knowledge of copyright and intellectual property law, as well as secure content distribution technologies and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience leading strategic projects, particularly those related to anti-piracy initiatives or content protection compliance, and managing complex stakeholder relationships across legal, commercial, and technical functions.
  • A track record of cross-functional collaboration and delivering results in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment where content protection and revenue risk mitigation are top priorities.
The other stuff we are looking for

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience:

  • A degree or professional qualification in Media, Telecommunications, Business, or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of the TV, entertainment, or telecoms industries.

  • Proven commercial and analytical acumen; comfortable interpreting contracts, data, and financial impacts.

  • Skilled in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to convey complex info clearly.

  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills.

  • Experience in cross-functional team collaboration, project delivery, and partner management.
