B2B CPE Test Engineer

We have a new role for a B2B CPE Test Engineer to join our B2B Service and Platform team.

You will be tasked with conducting testing duties to a high professional standard to support the maintenance and development of Virgin mediaO2 Business services.

You will perform a full lifecycle role including estimation, requirements analysis, design documentation review, preparation of test plans, test scenarios and test scripts and environment build, test execution, test results documenting & defect management for all phases of testing including unit, integration, functional, non-functional and end to end testing.

This is hybrid role with a requirement to work 2/3 days a week from our Bradford office.

Key responsibilities

• Author test plans and test scripts that will fully validate project requirements.
• Carry out appropriate and accurate test planning as required.
• Execute test scripts/packages to validate the service or product functionality.
• Carry out fault diagnosis and complete resolution of faults including any re-testing.
• Produce adequate testing completion documentation including, test results, and defect reporting using JIRA/Confluence
• Support for the B2B Management team and Test Engineers as required.
• Generate test fault reports and contribute to their prioritisation and risk analysis
• Complete the test analysis of project requirements

• Experienced in performing in a full lifecycle testing role in a network environment
• Cisco routers and switches (ISR/ASR)
• Ixia (Keysight) Traffic Generator Inc Ixload, IxNetwork, ByteBlower
• Demonstrable knowledge of IP Router and Data switch networks
• Knowledge of IP Provisioning platforms
• Experience with VOIP Platforms (IMS)
• Business Voice (SIP and SBCs)
• Proficiency with Jira/Confluence
• Basic understanding of automation frameworks – Python, Ansible or similar automation scripting language

• Operating systems: Windows, Linux, Unix and Solaris -
• Juniper/Nokia routers and switches
• CCNA/CCNP Certifications
• Next Generation Firewalls (Palo Alto, Zscaler)
